Build Learning Activities From Teaching Materials

Start with what a learner should be able to do, then design an activity that gives them a chance to do it. Use AI to draft explanations and practice around that objective. Review the material yourself before it reaches learners, particularly the answer keys and the assumptions about prior knowledge.

Paradigm Study provides an AI notebook with learning activities such as lessons, quizzes and guided practice. Educators and creators can use that workspace to develop a small unit from material they have permission to use. Begin with one objective and one source rather than generating an entire curriculum at once.

Connect the objective to evidence

ObjectiveActivityEvidence to inspect
Distinguish a claim from evidenceAnnotate a short paragraphLearner identifies which sentence supports the claim
Interpret a percentage changeCompare two small data tablesLearner names the denominator and explains the change
Explain a scientific mechanismDraw a labeled processLearner connects each step to its consequence
Apply a writing conventionRevise a short exampleLearner explains the reason for the revision

A quiz can test recognition, but a recognition question alone may not show whether a learner can apply the idea. Match the practice to the objective's action.

Example: a unit on evaluating evidence

Use a short passage you wrote about a fictional school garden. It contains an observation, an interpretation and a recommendation. Ask for a lesson that separates those three functions. Then draft a question that presents a different garden scenario and asks the learner which observation would support the recommendation.

Review whether the distractors represent plausible misunderstandings. Check that the correct answer follows from the passage without requiring an unstated fact. Finally, ask a colleague to try the activity and describe any ambiguity. This is a suggested design workflow, not a report of a classroom trial.

Review before distribution

Inspect factual accuracy, reading level, accessibility and source permissions. Do not place private student records into examples. Follow your institution's rules for AI use and distribution of teaching materials. Confirm the sharing behavior you intend to use in the product before assigning a link to a class.

Our objective-to-practice guide includes a complete sample rubric. For the material preparation workflow, read creating a course from your own materials.
